A Poisoned Legacy
Ottawa may have no choice but to repatriate, prosecute captured Canadian ISIL members: experts
Ottawa Citizen, July 21
The problem of returning jihadists may be overblown.
The horrific violence experienced by many returning jihadists has done what deradicalization programs, which author David Thomson calls "a joke", could not do, transform holy warriors into pacifists.
Thomson is a former reporter with Radio France International (RFI) and author of "Les Revenants" (The Returners, my translation) a recently published book, which is reportedly flying off the shelves in France, about French citizens who joined Islamic State and who have, or are making their way back to civilization.
Tell you what, Bernard, you want them back? THEY SHACK UP WITH YOU THEN YOU FUCKING SCUMBAG.
Jay … Edmonton, Alberta
The Prime Minister’s bonasse (pronounced bone·ass, generous to the point of being foolish) payment to Khadr may have poisoned any rational discourse on what to do about returning young men and women who joined Islamic State. His attempt to stifle the truth with Motion 103 about why young people join a society of sociopaths on the promise of Paradise for killing and dying in its Owner’s Cause will only make matters worse, much worse.

It's Ghostaphobia not Islamophobia Stupid!
Quebec imams condemn vote against Muslim cemetery!
CBC July 17, 2017
Rejected Muslim cemetery: Even in death, we find no peace
Zarqa Nawaz, creator of Little Mosque. Special to The Globe and Mail, July 18
It don't believe it was an anti-Muslim vote as a complacent media would have you believe, but a vote not to allow a development that could adversely affect property values. “Only those whose properties adjoined the proposed cemetery site were eligible to cast ballots.”
It's what some real estate agents refer to as "Ghostaphobia". Backing onto a golf course increases your property value, a cemetery has the opposite effect as someone said in response to Nawaz's accusation of Islamophobia and racism because the vote was not to her liking.
A "No" majority was probably inevitable no matter what religion asked to bury its dead next to where you barbecue.
Largely overlooked is the fact that 16 out of 35 landowners voted in favour of a Muslim cemetery even if it meant risking a drop in their net worth and enjoyment of their property. That would not fit with the narrative, of which Motion 103 is emblematic, that whenever people who wish to live by the Book do not, on a rare occasion, get their way it is because we hate them.
Québec City and area has four non-denominational cemeteries that have Muslim-only burial sections. Sharing a cemetery with unbelievers represents a close proximity danger for those who wish to live by the Book and who consider Allah’s warning to “guard against them fully” as keeping as much distance between you and those who "will spare no effort to corrupt you [3:118]" even during your shared zombie-life existence below ground.
By associating other than economic motives for the "No" vote we are encouraging a paranoid fear of unbelievers and distrust all around.
A Cold Shower of Oriental Fetishism
A great liberal betrayal is afoot… I call them regressive leftists; they are in fact reverse racists. They have a poverty of expectation for minority groups, believing them to be homogenous and inherently opposed to human rights values. They are culturally reductive in how they see Eastern —and in my case, Islamic—culture, and they are culturally deterministic in attempting to freeze their ideal of it in order to satisfy their oriental fetish.
Maajid Nawaz in conversation with Sam Harris, Islam and the Future of Tolerance, Harvard University Press, 2015
Brittons in the Glebe is closed for good. But, that is not why I don’t do books signings there anymore, or anywhere else.
The other day I was asked why. “Was it because I feared the reaction of Muslims who might come to my book signings?” she enquired.
“No I said, it was not the reaction of Muslims, which was always polite and informed but that of non-Muslims who had bought into the extremists’ narrative that the Koran and Islamic scriptures and culture in general were beyond the understanding of non-Muslims and told me so, in no uncertain terms to my face, during these signings.”
My typical reply, that they are not beyond the reach of anyone who can read, only brings further denunciations, including accusations of racism.
No Muslim I have met, has ever called me a racists. Non-Muslims, on the other hand, who can’t be bothered to read any of my books, let alone the back cover have done so on more occasions than I care to remember.
Not only do I no longer do book signings, but I try to avoid discussions about Islam, the Prophet and the Koran with most non-Muslims preferring the informed discussions I have with those who are familiar with the Book and its transmitter.
It's not only non-Muslims writing about Islam that Nawaz's non-Muslims with an oriental fetish would silence, but "liberal" Muslims as well:
While they rightly question every aspect of their own Western culture in the name of progress, they censure liberal Muslims who attempt to do so within Islam, and they choose to side instead with every regressive reactionary in the name “cultural authenticity” and anticolonialism.
Motion 103: That, in the opinion of the House, the government should: (a) recognize the need to quell the increasing public climate of hate and fear; (b) condemn Islamophobia and all forms of systemic racism and religious discrimination …
For: 201 Against: 91
To counter the inevitable accusations of racism I have included the story of my friendship with a black working girl from West Africa. I could also have reminisced about Audrey, but she had nothing to do with my future desire to get close and personal with a holy book; the same for my Indian damsel in distress. Then there are my recollections about how Sohrab and I became friends and my time with Bob and Marina.
I will admit to not including the story about how a priest saved my life which may have betrayed an agnostic’s bias towards the teachings of one man in a submission which is very much about religion and how we must remain on guard against the worst it has to offer.
Islamophobia Extended Edition
Is a fear of Islam a legitimate fear and are Canadians being unfairly maligned for voicing their apprehension? That is the question Islamophobia, my submission to the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage on Motion 103, tries to answer. The "extended" edition, available in print at cost, contains additional information in the form of eight sub-appendices which may be of interest to the Committee and to you should I be invited and agree to appear before it.
Sub-appendix Dead Poets and Songstresses in Chamberlain's Legacy and sub-appendices Zaynab, Safiyyah, Mariya and Aisha join Rayhanah in Massacre of the Banu Qurayzah. Five Weddings and Two Massacres provide further evidence to support an argument that they should not recommend making it a crime to write and talk in less than flattering terms about a man falsely revered, in my opinion, as the embodiment of the perfect human being whose every action is to be emulated as closely as possible.
As to the addition of sub-appendix Muhammad Abdullah on Democracy, Liberty and Western Art as Blasphemies in A Strange Devout New World, perhaps “the play’s the thing” to make them understand what is at stake.
Sub-appendix Daggers are In, Flutes are Out! was added to God in the Canadian Charter of Rights to illustrate a real-world consequence — the education of our children in this instance — of putting scriptures first.
In 2005, when the McGuinty government was set to introduce Sharia tribunals, it was moderate Muslims, who patiently explained the consequences of such a rash decision to a largely clueless electorate, who were the difference. They saved us from ourselves. Sub-appendix Wars-Never-Ending is about returning the favour as is much of my submission to the Committee.

The Battle for Hearts and Minds Goes National
‘It is a battle for hearts and minds’: Trudeau’s $35 million gamble to counter radicalization,
.... After a lengthy delay, the Liberals are expected to launch the new office — currently called the Office of the Community Engagement and Counter-Radicalization Coordinator — in the near future, pledging $35 million over five years to support intervention efforts, counter-narrative campaigns and research.
.... Amira Elghawaby, a spokeswoman for the National Council of Canadian Muslims, said her organization has been getting regular updates on the counter-radicalization office and is so far encouraged that Ottawa seems to be taking an inclusive approach to the problem. “We’re all in this together.”
Ottawa Citizen, June 12, 2017
Who has the ear of the Trudeau government is evident here as it is in his support of Motion 103. That and what is happening in our schools does not inspire confidence that the Office of the Community Outreach and Counter-radicalization Coordinator will not be more than another advocate for further accommodation.
Having said that, the Coordinator of OCOCC should be a non-believer or a Muslim with an impeccable record of support for the separation of Church and State and Canadian values and traditions e.g. Bencheikh.
If a non-Muslim, his or her first order of business should be getting thoroughly acquainted with the Koran and the sayings and example of the Prophet as they relate to the conduct of war against the unbelievers so they will not be taken in, as was the RCMP when it gave, then later withdrew its support for a publication, United Against Terrorism, which was ostensibly aimed at combating radicalism.
Boreal Vindicated By An Honest Cleric
Countering extremism requires political honesty from Theresa May,
Shaista Aziz, Special to the Globe and Mail, June 5, 2017
In response to the accusation implied in the headline and within the text of the solicited opinion that it is lies spread by Western leaders which invite terrorist attacks in the name of Islam, a reader provided a link in the comment section to a video on YouTube as rebuttal.
"This comment did not meet civility standards" we were informed by Canada's newspaper of record after it promptly removed the link, but not before some of us copied it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRPzkB5mr1U
The video is from a debate between two Muslim clerics, Dr. Jamal Rifi and Sheikh Mohammad Tawhidi, hosted by Australia’s Channel Seven following the Manchester massacre, in which the two argue the role religion played in the attack. Listen closely to what Sheikh Tawhidi has to say.
On the radicalisation of the Manchester bomber and his generation:
Basically we need to be very realistic when dealing with this matter. You have a twenty-two year old who gets radicalised over two, three sermons in a Friday mosque gathering … this age is an age when someone would expect people to be going out, having fun. But no, we have a large number of youth that are being radicalised. This happens because of the books that we have, the Islamic scriptures that we have; they push the Muslim youth to believe that if you go out there and kill the infidels, that's how you will gain Paradise.
On the massacres being a continuation of a very old war:
For the past one thousand four hundred years we have had a religion of war, that is exactly what we have had, this is not something I am imagining, these are facts. We’ve had many wars. How did Islam spread from Saudi Arabia down to Indonesia and Bosnia, all spread by the sword. We had many wars. For someone to come and say that Islamic scriptures have nothing to do with it, I mean, that’s against the facts, that’s not true. Islamic scriptures are what is pushing these people to behead the infidels.
Let me tell you something, the people that are beheading, that mister, the person that killed the young girls in Manchester did so believing he was going to dine with the Prophet Muhammad that very night, that is what the Islamic scriptures tell them.
There is no end to the obscenity.
The Road to Hell
"people are born good, evil is a learnt behavior" Sohrab
"religion makes good people do bad things" Weinberg
The focus here may be on Islam, but the premise is not!
Following the July 7, 2005 London bombings which saw 52 mainly Christian commuters killed and more than 700 injured (many horribly maimed), the British Parliament passed legislation sheltering mainstream religious texts, whether the message be one of love or of hatred, from criticism.
With the new race and religious hate laws coming through [after the London bombings] it could be considered illegal if Pain, Pleasure and Prejudice is deemed an attack on a person’s religious belief.
A British publisher's explanation for their change of heart after expressing a willingness to take on Pain, Pleasure and Prejudice.
The British government tried appeasement again, with predictable results. Almost from one day to the next, the country that fought a world war to preserve us from fanatics simultaneously became a more tolerant and intolerant society, more tolerant of violence-prone religious zealots and less tolerant of their critics, and the slaughter continues with no end to the escalating carnage.

Perversely, by making scriptures beyond reproach Islam is free to vilify other faiths at will for its scriptures came after and are often openly contemptuous of those which came before, the Gospels in particular.
Does the vilification of Christians in the Koran encourage their slaughter and the murder of even lesser believers who are equally maligned by scriptures which praise those who submit as the superior believers with commensurate rights over those who don’t? Rights which include killing them!
Masked militants riding in three SUVs opened fire Friday on a bus packed with Coptic Christians, including many children, south of the Egyptian capital, killing at least 26 and wounding 25, the Interior Ministry said.
The Associated Press, May 26, 2017
We have to be allowed, even encouraged to talk about it. Of all human endeavors, religion has the greatest potential to change our lives for the better or for the worst. By giving all citizens the freedom to question the authenticity, the relevancy, the meaning and application of religious dogma we guard against the worst.
Unless we come to grips with the fact that it is not people, believers and non-unbelievers who are the source of the turmoil which threatens to engulf us all, but a dissonant text from the Dark Ages, there is no hope.
Motion 103 may take us even further down the abject road taken by the British, the reason for my submission to the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage.
Fighting a Losing Battle
61:9 It is He Who sent His Messenger forth with the guidance and the religion of truth, to make it triumph over every religion ...
Islam was never a religion of peace. Islam is the religion of fighting. No-one should believe that the war that we are waging is the war of the Islamic State. It is the war of all Muslims, but the Islamic State is spearheading it. It is the war of Muslims against infidels. There is no excuse for any Muslim not to migrate to the Islamic State ... joining is a duty on every Muslim. We are calling on you either to join or carry weapons [fight] wherever you are.

Good luck with that. Unless you are willing to reign in the propaganda on the street, in the prisons and in the schools emboldened by legislation favouring the religious over the secular and which has proven a god-sent to a supremacist, fighting religion's recruitment efforts in the Land of War, then all is lost.

Change Your Religion, Change Your Race
Quebec byelection poster assailed as racist
A candidate in a Quebec provincial byelection has triggered controversy with a campaign poster that criticizes Canadian multiculturalism and shows a photo of a woman wearing a niqab.
The poster has the slogan Choose Your Quebec above two photos of the same woman — one in which she is sporting a blue tuque with the Fleur-de-lis and the other in which she is wearing a niqab. Below the photos it is written Canadian Multiculturalism, No Thanks.
The Canada Press, May 23, 2017
The Canadian media may be largely to blame for our Members of Parliament now parroting the dangerous absurdity promoted by those who would muddy the debate, that expressing reservations about the ultimate objective of the religion which brooks no equal is an expression of racism.
Persona Non Grata at Canada's Newspaper of Record
Conservatives argue motion to condemn Islamophobia impacts freedom of speech
Globe and Mail, February 15, 2016.
As we accept more and more refugees and immigrants whose values and beliefs are often at odds with our own, which one will change the other for the better, and who is to define what the better is. Today, to favour one over the other, even if you are Muslim, is to invite accusations of being an Islamophobe or of spreading Islamophobia.
If there is a fear of Islam it is not of the person, but of its sacred texts, the Koran in particular. If a discussion of Islamophobia leads to a discussion of the Koran it will be time well spent.
For years I have argued on my website for such a discussion. The world desperately needs an honest discussion about Islam, starting with an unfettered dialogue on the Koran, if we are to allay the fear of the other and foster a trust in the other that is sadly lacking and a reason to fear that the worst is yet to come.
The Globe and Mail's Response:
This account has been disabled indefinitely.
With the likes of the Globe and Mail having his back, is it any wonder the Prime Minister is going ahead with his planned paved road to Hell. On January 1, I said I was out of here, then Canada’s newspaper of record, the flagship of Canadian mainstream media, denied me a platform on which to express an opinion on Motion 103.
A Post-Apocalypse Dictionary
If we survive the end-times apocalypse the believers yearn to see engulf the world so that a promise made in scriptures of a replacement Paradise in the Hereafter for those who hasten the destruction of the one here is fulfilled, we may still call ourselves Christians, Jews and Muslims as a reminder of the criminally naive people we once were.
Christian: someone who once believed in the Gospels.
Jew: someone who once believed in the Torah.
Muslim: someone who once believed in the Koran.
Faith: "believing in something you know to be untrue"Twain
Rituals: what automatons do.
Dogma: a robot's soul; its coded instructions.
Religion: how you get good people to do bad things.Weinberg
What if we adopted these definitions now and became the Christians, Jews and Muslims of tomorrow, today and avoided the apocalypse altogether and saved Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World from annihilation?
Our willful ignorance will be our undoing, not the sword.
